Alpha Mill, once a bustling cotton mill in its early days, has been transformed into an urban apartment community on the edge of Uptown Charlotte. Three of the former mill buildings have been restored beyond their original splendor and boast soaring ceilings (over 17 ft), and exposed wood beams and brick. One of the buildings includes a beautiful atrium area complete with skylights. Secured access entry and interior corridors complete the contemporary feel of these unique apartments.

In the two refurbished mill buildings, each features four main floorplans. The atrium building houses 44 units, while the other is slightly smaller at 28. One-bedroom/ one-bath, one-bedroom/ one & a half-bath and two-bedroom/ two-bath plans make up these buildings, as well as a handful of studio units. Two of the other new buildings offer residents a combined 62 units with open floorplans, secured-access entry, elevators and open-air breezeways. Floorplan types here consist of one-bedroom/ one-bath and two-bedroom/ two-bath. The 32-unit building also includes private balconies and a roof-top terrace.

The carriage house buildings add architectural interest in rounding out the community. Three buildings with a total of six one-bedroom/ one & a half-bath, two-story townhouse units are situated above a garage with an open floorplan on second level and bedroom on the third level.
